Dr Rebecca Thorpe

Rebecca graduated from Sheffield University in 2006 and moved to the North East to undertake 2 years of General Professional Training at Newcastle Dental Hospital.

Following on from that Rebecca worked as SHO in Oral Medicine and Sedation for a further 2 years where she was involved with undergraduate training and treating patients. She presented at the 10th Biennial Conference of the European Association of Oral Medicine and has been published in the dental literature.

Throughout this time Rebecca also worked in general dental practice and from 2011 until 2016 was a clinical mentor for EU and non-EU dentists wishing to work in the NHS.

Rebecca enjoys providing general dental care, sedation service for anxious patients, crown and veneer cases and restoring dental implants. She has a keen interest in delivering oral health education and undertakes our outreach program regularly visiting nurseries, schools and youth projects throughout the area.

Rebecca has worked at Seaham Smiles since 2011 with a brief “holiday” between 2014 and 2019.

Outside of work Rebecca enjoys cooking, barre classes and looking after Lola the Rabbit and her 4 dogs: Tweed, Witty, Phebe and Millie.
